As half of all states reported an increase in weekly COVID-19 cases, including ten states with an increase of more than 50 percent in weekly new infections, the latest Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA’s) COVID19 survey summary continues to show that a high number of health center sites (1,529 are temporarily closed. While the number of closed sites has decreased since its peak of 2,073 in early April, this figure translates into one in eight closed health center sites nationally, suggesting that health center access is reduced even as states reopen and patients seek COVID-19 testing and other health care services.
